My Top Three Ways To Steep A Cup Of Tea!

Like any tea drinker I have my favorite ways to make a cup of tea.

Let's start with the basics. You begin with fresh cold water in your tea kettle. It has more oxygen in it and gives you a better cup of tea than if you reheat the water already in your kettle.  Once the water comes to a boil, you have a choice on how you will infuse the tea leaves. If you're using a tea bag, hey no judgement here, that choice is made for you. The tea bag will act as your infuser and your strainer all at once. That's the beauty of the tea bag! The challenge is find a good tea leaf inside, but that's a post for another day.

As I just mentioned, tea needs to be infused. This is the process of the leaves steeping in boiling water. The amount of time and water temperature depends on the type of tea and your personal preference.

But how to keep from drinking tea leaf particles? That requires the process of straining. Will you add the tea leaves to your teapot and fill it with boiling water? A strainer will be needed to keep those tea leaves out of your cup.  Are you making yourself a mug of tea. you'll still need a strainer to enjoy your morning cuppa.

Here are my favorite ways to make my cup of tea.

  1. A tea pocket- fill your own tea bag style
  2. Bottom dispensing tea maker
  3. Pierced Silver tea strainer

Some days I feel fancy and set my tea tray all up- teapot, teacup, flowers, strainer and a nibble

Other days I heading out the door with my travel tumbler or just need a big mug of tea to sit with me at my desk. On those days I use my Tea Steeper. You add your tea leaves, boiling water and allow the tea to steep. then you place the Tea Steeper on top of your mug and it releases the tea & strains the leaf all in one step! So easy!

When I’m having tea as I travel or spending the weekend with family, I fill some tea pockets with my favorite blend, place them in a small tin and voila, I have the ease of the tea bag but the quality tea I enjoy to steep also!

What’s your favorite way to steep your tea? There’s no wrong answer, really-it’s all about personal preference. I think the key thing is to try different methods and see which ones work for you.

Are you ready to Steep!
